Social Inequality in Japan: A Reassessment

Abriss

Dieser nicht-öffentlicher Workshop wurde vom DIJ in Kooperation mit David Chiavacci vom Asien-Orient-Institut der Universität Zürich organisiert. In Vorbereitung auf die Jahrestagung der Vereinigung für sozialwissenschaftliche Japanforschung (VSJF), die vom 22. bis 24. November 2013 am Japanisch-Deutschen Zentrum Berlin (JDZB) stattfinden wird, trafen sich die eingeladenen Sprecher am DIJ. Es wurden insbesondere fünf Dimensionen sozialer Ungleichheit in Japan genauer betrachtet: Bildung, Arbeitsmarkt, Wohlfahrtsstaat, Unterschiede zwischen Stadt und Land sowie soziale Minderheiten.
